Simtel Spotlight - Where the Hottest Programs SHINE! Currently Featuring... Virtuosa by FunVibes
Virtuosa brings it all together for me. Rip, play, mix, organize, visualize, convert, normalize, burn audio and even view video. In fact there are so many features it's hard to get them listed in one place, I can't really do it justice, but perhaps the best feature is that all the functionality doesn't get in the way of doing what you want. First there's music. Virtuosa handles MP3, WMA, Wav, Aiff, SND, au, asx and more PLUS video; WMV, Avi, MP2, QuickTime, Video CD (VCD) DivX, MPEG and more. Download or rip and then play or burn, all right in Virtuosa. Visual options are many, here's a simple setup that took less than a couple of minutes: Please click on the image to enlarge it. One of my favorite features is the playlist editor. I am able to create an unlimited number of playlists by type of music with options to create them by any criteria; date, artist, favorites, etc. I can even create a playlist based on Virtuosa's advanced search across my entire collection. The volume normalization was a great feature. If you've been sitting there all mellow and then all of a sudden have been blasted out of your chair by a song that's louder than normal Virtuosa will automatically make sure all your tracks are at the same volume level. Nice. The database is impressive with more than 20 fields, many fully editable, so you can fully classify tracks. I haven't loaded all my tracks yet, but with over 1,000 tracks it was faster than anything else I've used. Add one click burning, FAST ripping (it's the first software that actually hit the rated speed of my CD-RW drive) and an extensive help system it's earned top of the heap on my system. -- Don Watkins
